John Hopcroft

John Hopcroft, born on October 7, 1939 in Seattle, is a computer scientist from the United States. He completed his education at both Seattle University and Stanford University.

Hopcroft was awarded the 1986 Turing Award and is currently based in the United States. Throughout his academic career, John Hopcroft has supervised the doctoral work of several students, including Alfred Aho, Gilles Brassard, Zvi Galil, Daniela L. Rus, Joe Warren (fighter), Cynthia Dwork, Chandrajit Bajaj, Harry Hunt, Paul Dietz, James Cremer, and Anirban Dasgupta.
