Jacob van Loo

Jacob van Loo (1614-1670) was a Dutch painter and artist known for his work in portrait and genre painting. Born in Sluis, Netherlands, van Loo eventually became a citizen of the Dutch Republic and later, France. His artistic career led him to become a prominent painter at the time, though he also worked as an artist in general.

Throughout his life, van Loo contributed to the growth of portrait and genre painting. His most notable work includes his child, Louis-Abraham van Loo, who followed in his father's footsteps and became a painter himself. Jacob van Loo passed away on November 26, 1670, in Paris.
