Isaac Babel

Isaac Babel was born on June 30, 1894, in Odessa and held citizenship in Russia, the Russian Empire, and the Soviet Union. He was a writer with a diverse range of occupations, including journalist, screenwriter, playwright, writer, war correspondent, contributing editor, military personnel, and film director.

Babel was educated at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and Kyiv National Economic University. His body of work spans various genres such as play (theatre), short story, prose, and sketch story. One of his notable works is Red Cavalry.

Isaac Babel passed away on January 27, 1940, in Butyrka prison.
