Hippolyte Fizeau

Hippolyte Fizeau (1819-1896) was a French astronomer, engineer, and physicist. Born in Paris on September 23, 1819, Fizeau was educated at Collège Stanislas de Paris. He held French citizenship throughout his life.

As an accomplished scientist, Fizeau made significant contributions to the fields of astronomy, engineering, and physics. He lived in France until his death in Jouarre on September 18, 1896.
