Hermann Staudinger

Hermann Staudinger (born March 23, 1881, in Worms, Germany, and died on September 8, 1965, in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany) was a German chemist and engineer. He held citizenship in Germany.

Staudinger studied at Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg and ETH Zurich. He was an expert in the field of chemistry and held occupations as both chemist and engineer. He was well-known for his work on ketenes.

Staudinger had a notable academic relationship with his doctoral advisor, Daniel Vorländer, and his doctoral student, Leopold Ružička. Throughout his career, he received multiple awards, including the 1953 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and the Rudolf Diesel Medal in 1962.
