Henry Ossawa Tanner

Henry Ossawa Tanner was an American artist born on June 21, 1859, in Pittsburgh. He held citizenship in the United States and was educated at both the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the Académie Julian in Paris, France. Tanner worked as a painter , photographer , and illustrator . His art encompassed a variety of genres, including figure painting , landscape painting , genre painting , and religious painting . One of Tanner's notable works is a painting titled "The Young Sabot Maker" . He passed away on May 25, 1937, in Paris, France .
