Happy Money, previously known as Payoff, is a company offering financial services to their customers save money that is headquartered in Costa Mesa, California and was founded in 2009 by Eden Warner and Scott Saunders. According to the companies website they have over 70,000 members and have helped people pay off over $1 billion worth of debt.
On April 7, 2010 Happy Money completed their seed funding round with $1.7 million in funding from FirstMark Capital. On January 11, 2012 Happy Money expanded their seed funding round with $4.1 million in funding from Great Oaks Venture Capital, Anthemis Group, Firstmark Capital, and several other undisclosed investors. In total, happy Money raised $5.8 million in seed funding.
On December 3, 2013 Happy Money completed their series A funding round with $7 million in funding from Anthemis Group (lead investor), and Joe Saunders.
On October 22, 2014 Happy Money completed their series B funding round with $12 million in funding from Mohamed El-Erian.
On June 15, 2016 Happy Money completed their series C funding round with $46.7 million in funding from Tencent Holdings and Anthemis Group.
On September 5, 2019 Happy Money completed their series D funding round with $70 million in funding from CMFG Ventures.
