Galactic Punks

Galactic Punks is a collection of NFTs that were minted on Terra. It is composed of 10,921 randomly generated NFTs that look like "punks" from outer space. Traits that are used for the random generation include backgrounds, species, suits, hair, accessories, and headwear. The NFTs were minted on October 12, 2021, and sold out within minutes. They can be purchased on platforms such as Random Earth, Luart, Messier, and OnePlanet.Users could initially buy the NFTs with Terra's currency, $LUNA.

The Galactic Punks formed the first decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) on Terra. The DAO also hosted hackathons and enabled punk staking.

Plans for the collection are uncertain after the collapse of Terra's stablecoin, TerraUSD, and its sister token, LUNA. The company states that Galactic Punks will continue on Terra, and the collection will be migrated to Terra 2.0 once it is live. The team behind Galactic Punks states it is implementing new formalities to make the future of the collection more secure. Such actions include electing multi-sig council members, establishing a multi-sig wallet, and sending funds.
