Franklin Bulls is a New Zealand-based basketball team that was founded in 2020. The name of the team came from a community voting competition. The team's bull mascot is named "Blitz," which honors the original name of the men's team in the area. The Franklin Bulls play in the New Zealand National Basketball League (NZNBL), and the team's home court is at the Franklin Pool and Leisure Center in Pukekohe. The stated goal of the organization is to create a community that offers pathways for all genders to become elite players in sports.
The team had its inaugural season in 2020-2021 with a smaller team of thirteen players. The season was altered due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Franklin Bulls ended its first season with five wins and thirteen losses. In the 2021-2022 season, the team has more than twenty players and ranks fifth in the league with five wins and four losses as of June 2022.
Fans of the team can buy season passes for the team's games, which gives them benefits including access to all of the home games, a membership card and lanyard, and discounts from local partner businesses.
