First Ascent Ventures

First Ascent Ventures (formerly OpenText Enterprise Apps Fund) is a Toronto based venture capital firm investing in technology companies in Canada. It is focused on enterprise software, business-to-business, SaaS, cloud, analytics, mobile, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Richard Black and Tony van Marken co-founded the company in 2015. It seeks to invest between $5 million to $10 million in funds from Series A round and onward. As of 2019, the company has made 18 investments in its ten portfolio companies.
