Exro Technologies is a Vancouver, B.C., Canada-based company producing technology for self-sustaining electric motors. It claims to leverage new technology to improve the performance, longevity, and efficiency of batteries, including those used in electric motors and generators.
Exro developed a Dynamic Power Management System (DPM) that separates individual coils the enable power switching between coils as needed. This system is used in electric engines and generators. The company claims this allows for a broader range of energy creation within the batteries.
Patented technology developed by Exro is being utilized in various applications including, electric vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles (UVAs), and ship drives. Exro is not developing its own engines; instead, it works within powertrains that already exist through partnerships with other companies.
In September of 2020, Exro moved from the Canadian Security Exchange (CSE) to the TSX Venture Exchange, using EXRO as the company ticker.
Exro Technologies has developed various partnerships with a variety of companies looking to leverage the DPM system. These partnerships include Motorino Electric, an electric bike company; Zero Motorcycles, an electric-powered motorcycle manufacturer; Aurora Powertrains, a snowmobile powertrain manufacturer; Potencia Industrial, an electric motor designer; and Clean Seed Capital, a heavy farm equipment manufacturer.
