ERDCWERX

ERDCWERX works with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) and the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering to solve problems associated with military engineering, environmental quality and inspections, civil projects, water resource projects, geospatial research and engineering, and engineering resilient systems through leveraging the capabilities of small businesses, enterprises, academia, research labs, and entrepreneurs through partnership agreements. ERDCWERX hosts events and challenges to develop projects with the potential to participate in programs such as FAR-based contracting instruments, Other Transaction Authority (OTA) for prototype projects 10 USC 2371b, prizes for advanced technology achievements 10 USC 2374a, and/or prize competitions 15 USC 3719.

ERDC also offers prototyping opportunities to interested parties for stimulating and supporting prototype creation through reducing barriers to private industry defense-related research, establish new relationships between defense and commercial sectors, working to improving practices and processes, improve the government's ability to create and acquire prototypes, transition successful prototypes into Production OTs issued by the Other Transaction Authority (OTA), and to enhance Department of Defense access to technology and industrial capabilities.
