Dropout, which was founded in 2018, is an Italian company that specializes in the selling of original limited edition shoes and streetwear.
Dropout's team created HypeAnalyzer, a technical analysis programme for the secondary streetwear market, to help with company operations. HypeAnalyzer algorithms automate and data-driven pricing and marketing in dropout. Data on consignment rates (dynamic and impacted by factors like fluctuation and demand, objectively assessed) and discounts are also produced. Dropout is trying to grow this simple yet effective strategy for many other things retail and e-commerce, and is now researching the development of a site for investing in sneakers as alternative assets. In Italy, HypeAnalyzer is protected by a commercial patent (SIAE, D000014993), and dropout® is a registered trademark at the continental level.
Dropout began with no external money and announced its first funding round in October 2021, collecting €750k via equity crowdfunding in six days after the board approved an expansion of the initial €500k objective (reached in 4 days out of a 62 days campaign).
Two Italian venture capital funds and around 150 retail investors participated in the campaign, joining the founding team of Kola Tytler, Andrea Canziani, Federico Pasquetti, and Stefano Zeppieri.
