David Gross

David Gross is an American physicist born on February 19, 1941, in Washington D.C. . He is a citizen of the United States and is best known for his work in theoretical physics .

Gross was educated at various institutions including the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, University of California, Berkeley, and Harvard University . He completed his doctoral studies under the guidance of Geoffrey Chew .

Throughout his career, Gross has advised several doctoral students, some of whom include Edward Witten, Rajesh Gopakumar, Nikita Nekrasov, and Frank Wilczek .

David Gross is the recipient of the 2004 Nobel Prize in Physics . He is the son of Bertram Myron Gross , living and working in the United States .
