Daniel Handler (born February 28, 1970) is an American writer, screenwriter, novelist, musician, and songwriter. He is best known for his work under the pseudonym Lemony Snicket, under which he authored the children's book series "A Series of Unfortunate Events". Handler was born in San Francisco, California, and is a citizen of the United States.
Handler attended Lowell High School in San Francisco and later graduated from Wesleyan University. Throughout his career as an author, Handler has explored various genres, including fairy tales.
In addition to "A Series of Unfortunate Events", Daniel Handler has several other notable works to his name. These include "The Basic Eight", "Watch Your Mouth", and the "Adverbs" group. He currently resides in San Francisco.
