CORSA S-5 helmet model
Corsa helmets are equipped with the following features:
- Bug net: Netting is attached to the front vents to prevent insects, such as flies and bees, from flying into the helmet.
- Injection-molded 3D structure: This is designed to reinforce the helmet, so when one part is impacted, the force is spread throughout to help absorb the impact energy.
- Inmold: In the inmolding process, a polycarbonate shell is inserted into a mold, and the EPS material is injected and bonded under heat and pressure, creating a durable structure. Inmold helmets also tend to be lighter than other types of helmets.
- Ultralite buckle: Corsa helmets feature a light buckle weighing 3.5 grams, made by Nexus, a US-based manufacturer.
- Alloy shield technology: An alloy material reinforces structurally-integral sections of the helmet, improving airflow and aerodynamics.
- Twist lock: A twist-lock type side adjuster enables the strap to be tightened by turning a knob and loosened by twisting it in the opposite direction.
- Triangle support: Some Corsa helmets have a triangular support built into the rear of the strap system to improve their stability while worn.
- Recycled EPS: Corsa collaborates with a US-based car manufacturer to reduce its carbon footprint by reusing their packaging material from transporting delicate auto components.
- Soft Touch paint finish: A paint is sprayed over the helmet's surface to achieve a soft, textured feel.
- Open cell pads: Open cell foam pads with unsealed edges are used in Corsa's cheaper helmet models.
- Latch cam: Latch cam adjustors utilize a latch system to secure helmet straps and are molded so the cam lever is easily lifted to loosen or tighten the adjustor.
- Mushroom pin: This is the most common method of attaching the visor to the helmet. A pin shaped like a mushroom is forced into a smaller hole into the shell, and the larger pin head fixes the visor to the helmet.
- Hybrid production process: Corsa helmets are made using a traditional polycarbonate vacuum-formed shell and an injection-molded hardshell. Subsequently, both are inmolded together to achieve desirable material properties, such as durability and thinness.
- Flip cam: Corsa helmets feature a light and slim cam adjuster made in Italy with a weight of 2 grams.
- Dial light: Integrated into the dial fit system, the dial light can be visible from more than 100 meters away. It features flashing and steady modes and is powered by changeable batteries.
- Detox: Corsa's Detox fit system is the company's proprietary micro-adjust ratchet system. It has a 6 cm adjusting range, with each position 2 mm from the next. According to Corsa, the Detox fit system is one of the most widely used fit systems in the world.
- Cotton strap: While helmet straps are often made from petroleum-based materials, Corsa uses cotton.
