CavinKare is a producer and seller of consumer goods (FMCG) products. The company is involved in diverse areas of business, including dairy, snacks, foods, beverages, personal care products, and beauty care products. Its founder and chairman is C. K. Ranganathan.
CavinKare was founded in 1983 as CHIK India Private Limited. The company entered the market with one product, CHIK Shampoo, which was sold in sachets. Cavinkare’s brand deck grew to include thirteen brands in the FMCG category and two salon chains.
In July 2002, CavinKare came up with a division called Trends, focusing on the provision of personal styling and beauty solutions to individuals. Trends is in the organized salon retail chain segment, with its flagship brands Green Trends Unisex Hair, Style Salon, and Limelite Salon and Spa.
