Brighter AI Technologies is based in Berlin and focuses on the development of deep neural networks to generate and enhance visual data.
Brighter AI was founded by Marian Glaeser, Asaf Birnhack, and Patrick Kern in June 2017. The company was the first spin-off from the incubator of automotive supplier Hella. With the origin from the automotive industry, Brighter AI's first use cases emerged around enhancing vision for car drivers, driving assistance systems, and autonomous vehicles.
With GDPR entering into force in the EU, the startup started anonymizing personal identifiers by generating artificial faces and license plates and placing them on top of the raw image data. The company calls this solution Deep Natural Anonymization and aims to provide its customers with advanced video analytics capabilities and data privacy at the same time.
Brighter AI develops artificial intelligence to reconstruct images. For this task, deep learning methods such as generative adversarial networks (GANs) are employed. Some of the company's research efforts are published in form of scientific articles.
