Billy Casper was an American golfer and architect born on June 24, 1931, in San Diego. He held United States citizenship and was educated at the University of Notre Dame and Chula Vista High School. Casper worked in the sports industry in the United States.
Throughout his career, he was also an architect and businessperson. Casper was known for receiving the Jimmy Demaret Award at the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, being named Golfweek's Father of the Year, and being selected as the Memorial Tournament's honoree.
Casper received many awards, including the Masters Tournament, Father/Son Challenge, Legends of Golf-Legendary Division, Nationwide Championship, Doug Sanders Celebrity Classic, Bruno's Memorial Classic, GTE Northwest Classic, Fuji Electric Grand Slam, Vantage At The Dominion, and GTE Kaanapali Classic.
In addition, Casper had a career highlight that involved a nagging hand injury, which slowed him down for a year. He, however, experienced a hot streak in the middle of the year with three consecutive appearances.
Billy Casper passed away on February 7, 2015, in Utah.
