Bill Evans

Bill Evans (born August 16, 1929, in Plainfield, New Jersey; died September 15, 1980, in Fort Lee, New Jersey), was a United States citizen and an influential personality in the music industry. His work spans various genres within jazz, including jazz fusion, modal jazz, cool jazz, post-bop, and crossover jazz.

Evans held multiple roles as a musician, pianist, composer, bandleader, and he was also a student at Southeastern Louisiana University and Mannes School of Music. Notable works by Bill Evans include "Waltz for Debby" and "Peace Piece".

In his career, Evans received several high-profile awards, such as the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Instrumental Album and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
