The firm is headquartered in Paris, France and was founded in 1999 by Guillaume Aubin and Charles Letourneur. On January 3, 2017 Alven Capital announced raising $261 million for their Alven Capital V investment fund. The company plans on using the fund to make series A investments. One of the company's partners, Jérémy Uzan, said the Alven Capital V investment fund will allow Alven Capital to " invest as much as €30 million on a single company".
