Alan Arkin

Alan Arkin, born as Alan Wolf Arkin on March 26, 1934, in New York City, is a character actor, television director, film director, writer, musician, and various other roles in the entertainment industry. He is a United States citizen and was educated at Bennington College and Los Angeles City College.

Alan Arkin is the son of David I. Arkin and father to Adam Arkin and Matthew Arkin. He is also related to Joseph Wortis and Avi, an author.

Arkin's notable works include The In-Laws, Grosse Pointe Blank, Glengarry Glen Ross, Gattaca, Edward Scissorhands, Wait Until Dark, Little Miss Sunshine, The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming, Little Murders, Freebie and the Bean, and Popi.
