Akari Aerospace is a company that has the goal of moving people and goods in cities and traveling long distances without stopping, and without the possibility of falling and experiencing collisions. The project was started in 1986, and was originally given the name Gravitonzero Drive.
The company looks to create vehicles that dont use wings or propellers to fly, that anybody can operate. Akari Aerospace looks to design these vehicles to deliver passengers on any roof, to provide continuous monitoring of passenger health and needs, and to be quiet during any weather condition.
Some of the solutions that the company has developed were inspired through observations in fields of nature, physics, aerodynamics, energy, and material technologies. The company looks to utilize these observations to bypass gravity. The company designed the Gravitonzero Drive as a petroleum-electric hybrid module, and wants the vehicle to obtain energy from photovaltaics based on a superconductor. The company has designs for three vehicles, the first has a capacity of five people, the second can hold over two-hundred people, and the third is known as the orbiter.
