Ahli United Bank

Ahli United Bank is a Bahrain-based banking financial institution. It is headquartered in Manama. Ahli United Bank was founded since 2000 as a result of the merger between The United Bank of Kuwait - now the United Kingdom branch - and Al-Ahli Commercial Bank - now the Bahrain branch. The company was acquired by Kuwait Finance House in 2019. It is a publicly-traded company.

Ahli United Bank operates branches in Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Oman, United Kingdom, Egypt, Iraq, and Libya. From these branches, only the United Kingdom and Bahrain subsidiaries are 100% owned by Ahli United Bank. This is in line with its corporate strategy, which is to acquire financial institutions based in the Gulf area. Ahli United Bank operates five main banking services: retail banking, corporate banking, treasury and investment, private banking and wealth management, as well as Islamic banking products and services. However, there are regional differences in the offered products, such as the need for compliance based on sharia laws in Libya, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
