AV8 Ventures

AV8 Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm based in Palo Alto, California and London, Englad. The firm seeks early-stage investments in companies focused on technologies, such as AI-driven digital health and mobility. The firm's investment and support team works to offer technical, entrepreneurial, and venture experience to help portfolio companies succeed. AV8 Ventures was launched in 2018 with the firm's first venture fund, with backing from Allianz SE.

The firm is led by George Ugras, a former head of IBM Ventures, and Miles Kirby, a previous managing director at Qualcomm Ventures. Besides the pair, AV8 Ventures has other full-time partners and additional venture partners and intends to invest in around ten early-stage companies per year. In 2021, AV8 Ventures was successful in raising a second fund, with an aim to invest in twenty-five companies in the seed stage and with some Series A investments. The main driver of the second fund, according to AV8 Ventures, was to continue to offer portfolio companies with funding continuity and maintain the veloocity of the firm's funding.
