Windy

Windy is a weather service app that tracks wind, rain, snow, thunderstorms, and other weather patterns. The Prague, Czech Republic-based company was founded in 2014 by Seznam.cz, founder Ivo Lukačovič. An avid kiter and helicopter and jet pilot, Lukacovic created Windy (then called Windyty) as a way to track weather patterns that affected his hobbies. The company grew to a small team of programmers and released Android and iOS apps under the name Windytv in 2016. Windy adopted its current name in 2017. In 2020, the company grew to a team of fifteen people and introduced a paid version called Windy Premium. Windy is a private company that is owned by Lukačovič and its employees.
