Wilhelm Backhaus

Wilhelm Backhaus (26 March 1884 – 5 July 1969) was a German pianist. Born in Leipzig, he was a citizen of Germany and studied at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig. His career was centered on his work as a pianist and he passed away in Villach.
