Utamaro

Utamaro was a Japanese painter and artist known for his works in the genres of Bijin-ga and Ukiyo-e . Born in Tokyo in 1753 , Utamaro held Japanese nationality and citizenship . He was widely recognized for his notable work, Three Beauties of the Present Day .

During his career, Utamaro worked as both a painter and artist . His distinctive style was known by the alias きたがわ うたまろ . Utamaro passed away in Edo, now known as Tokyo, on October 31, 1806 .
