Thomas Digges (born in Wootton, Kent) was an accomplished astronomer, mathematician, politician, and officer in the armed forces. He held citizenship in the Kingdom of England. Digges had the opportunity to study at Queens' College, Cambridge, under the guidance of his doctoral advisor, John Dee. He was the son of another scientist named Leonard Digges and went on to father two children--Dudley Digges and Leonard Digges (writer).
