Team Salvato

Established in 2017, Team Salvato is a game development studio founded by Dan Salvato, the developer of the game Doki Doki Literature Club. The game is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox One. The game can be purchased online, and the physical iteration can be purchased at a preferred retailer. DDLC Plus is an upgraded version of the original Doki Doki Literature Club that possesses an array of extensions like HD visuals, extra side stories, and music for upcoming and existing fans of Doki Doki Literature Club.

Doki Doki Literature Club

Doki Doki Literature Club was launched on September 22nd, 2017, and in June 2021, Salvato announced Doki Doki Literature Club Plus. Salvato and the development team Serenity Forge launched the game online in June 2021, then released physical editions on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 and 5 in October 2021.

Doki Doki Literature Club is advertised as free to play, but users can contribute different amounts, and $10 or more will get them the DDLC Fan Pack. The pack includes the following:

• The DDLC official soundtrack, with twenty-four tracks, including remixes, bonus tracks, sketches, and song variants that are not added in the game
• Wallpapers of in-game art for desktop and mobile
• DDLC concept art booklet containing concept art and developer notes, offering insight into the early stages of development

Dan Salvato is the founder of Team Salvato. He is a former professional Super Smash Bros. player, and he created a mod for Melee, 20XX Tournament Edition. He also contributed to Project M. Salvato and is the creator of FrankerFaceZ, a Twitch extension offering custom emotes and moderation tools. Doki Doki Literature Club is his first game, and it was released after he privately worked on it for two years. Following its launch, it gained popularity on Twitch and Youtube.

I think I understood that the game had some potential, because I usually have a pretty good understanding of the audience I design things for. But I never expected it to get this much attention. It’s really overwhelming, and heartwarming beyond what I can describe.”
