Stuart Gordon

Stuart Gordon was born on August 11, 1947, in Chicago and held American citizenship. He was educated at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and worked as a film director, screenwriter, actor, film producer, and theatre director. In 1969, Gordon founded the Organic Theater Company. During his career, he also founded the Broom Street Theater.

Gordon was known for directing and writing various films and TV shows spanning across genres such as comedy, horror film, crime film, action film, slasher film, comedy-drama, noir, thriller film, and science fiction. He was particularly known for his film "Re-Animator", and was an admirer of the works of Howard Lovecraft.

Some of the notable films and TV shows directed by Gordon include "Castle Freak", "The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit", "From Beyond", "Robot Jox", "The Pit and the Pendulum", and "Space Truckers". He also directed episodes of "King of the Ants", "Daughter of Darkness", "Dagon", "Edmond", "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show", "Bleacher Bums", "Masters of Horror", and "Fear Itself".

He was also the author of films such as "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids", "The Dentist", "Progeny", "Re-Animator", and "Space Truckers".

Stuart Gordon passed away on March 24, 2020, in Los Angeles.
