Genzyme Corporation is a corporate venture capital firm in Massachusetts that focuses on rare diseases, rare blood disorders, multiple sclerosis, oncology, and immunology. Founded 2001 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States by George Whitesides and Sheridan Snyder, it invests in early stage ventures. Its portfolio companies include Evidation Health, Icosavax, and Imbria Pharmaceuticals. As of March 2020, Genzyme has made four investments. Their most recent investment was on February 11, 2015, when Voyager Therapeutics raised $30M. Genzyme has had three exits, the most notable of which include Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Voyager Therapeutics, and Humanigen.
