Russell Alan Hulse

Russell Alan Hulse is an astronomer and physicist born in New York City on 28th November 1950 . He holds citizenship of the United States and has spent his career working within the country . Hulse was educated at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Cooper Union . He went on to have an esteemed career, including receiving the 1993 Nobel Prize in Physics .

His doctoral advisor was Joseph Hooton Taylor Jr. , a physicist and astronomer as well. Throughout his career, Hulse has made significant contributions to the fields of astronomy and physics, and his work has been recognized both nationally and internationally.
