On November 1, 2014, FaZe Clan uploaded a Call of Duty sniping montage entitled '#RED'[1]. The Organization would later go on to announce the founding of the team known as Red Reserve as a sub-team to the clan. The team would then start to upload Call of Duty sniper montages to their YouTube channel, the first being the announcement of the team. They would go on to continue uploading these montages partnered with FaZe Clan until sometime around June 2016, where they would cut their ties with FaZe to explore other opportunities under their own banner, including merchandise and esports.

They became an eSports organization in December of 2016 upon acquiring a Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare lineup consisting of Johnathan "Pacman" Tucker, Christopher "Parasite" Duarte, Michael "Swarley" Carter and Devin "LlamaGod" Tran. Red Reserve had lost their Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare lineup in February of 2017, but days after, Red Reserve had merged with the Swedish organization, Orbit Esport, which resulted in all of the latter's current rosters moving over to Red Reserve. After the merging, Red Reserve were treated with a European Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare roster and a Brazilian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster who were accommodated with a gaming house in Sweden. The Brazilian team disbanded later in the Spring season and Red Reserve went on to sign the Swedish team passions.

Since then, former NiP AWPer, Mikail "Maikelele" Bill joined the squad as a replacement for fellow Swede xajdish, with the transfer being finalised on June 4th 2017. The roster stayed the same after this, and showed promise, after placing 2nd at the Nvidia GeForce Cup and at Dreamhack Valencia. Despite showing promise, the team failed to qualify for several big events, including Dreamhack Masters Malmö and the ELEAGUE Premier 2017. As a result of this, hampus departed the team on August 20th in search of greener pastures, but failed to find another team. slap stood in for the team during this period, but 11 days later the entire squad, left the organisation due to internal problems that could not be fixed by the organization. This caused passions to reform, alongside fellow former teammate hampus in place of Maikelele and with coach djL becoming a player again. Since then, hampus and RuStY parted ways with the rest of the team, forming a new passions team, whilst the previous core stayed together but began playing under the name of Japaleno.

Since then, on October 26th 2017, Red Reserve acquired the roster of Japaleno featuring the addition of Niclas "PlesseN" Plessen, formerly of Fnatic Academy. PlesseN's old Fnatic Academy teammate, Linus "Bååten" Andersson completed the lineup.

Red Reserve would later drop their roster, who would return to playing under the banner of Japaleno. As replacements, they would sign the roster of GODSENT whom the RFRSH backed organization would sell their roster to.
