Paul Lauterbur

Paul Christian Lauterbur was a chemist, professor, and physicist from the United States. He was born on May 6, 1929, in Sidney, Ohio and passed away on March 27, 2007, in Urbana, Illinois. Lauterbur was educated at Sidney High School (Ohio) and the University of Pittsburgh.

Lauterbur's most notable work was the development of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which earned him the prestigious 2003 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Throughout his career, he worked as a chemist, professor, and physicist in the United States.
