Yogananda founded two non-profit societies that unite all religions: Self-Realization Fellowship (Russian "Commonwealth of Self-Realization") with an international headquarters in the United States and Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS) with a central office in India. In March 2017, in honor of the 100th anniversary of YSS, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a commemorative stamp featuring Yogananda, commemorating, among other things, the monk's contribution to the spread of India's spiritual ideas abroad.
