Otto Stern (17 February 1888 - 17 August 1969) was a Polish chemist and physicist known for his work in the field of physics. He was born in Żory, Poland, and received his education at the University of Wrocław and Goethe University Frankfurt.

Stern's most notable work is the Stern–Gerlach experiment, which led to the discovery of spin quantization in atoms and the development of the Stern model and the Stern–Volmer relationship. He received the 1943 Nobel Prize in Physics for his contributions to the field.

After an illustrious career, Otto Stern passed away in Berkeley, California on August 17, 1969.
