Otto's is a retail company headquartered in Sursee, Switzerland. The company sells products including groceries, hygiene and personal care, cleaning products, wine and non-alcoholic beverages, beauty products, diet and health products, contact lenses, garden products, sporting goods, furniture and textiles, household goods, children's products, consumer electronics, clothing, and cars.
The company was founded in 1978, when Otto Ineichen bought damaged goods after a storm in Ticino and sold them in an improvised shop in Sursee. And OTTO's Damage Post offered a niche market of goods that people were interested in at the time. The success culminated in a new range of goods at twenty-four locations, with the first branch opened in French-speaking Switzerland in 1989 before changing the company's name to OTTO's in 1999, as the chain store went from selling damaged goods and loss items to selling standard items as expected in other retail outlets.
In 2001, Otto Ineichen's son Mark Ineichen took over the operational management of the company, and later handed the strategic management to his son as well.
