Omar Sharif

Omar Sharif (born April 10, 1932, in Alexandria, Egypt) was an Egyptian actor, writer, and producer who was educated at Cairo University and Victoria College, Alexandria. He was known for his work in various genres, including Western, and used the pseudonym عمر الشريف. His nationality was Egyptian, and he received numerous awards during his career, including those from Art Film Festival, Almería International Short Film Festival, Dubai International Film Festival, Capri, Hollywood, Golden Globes, USA, Bambi Awards, Jules Verne Awards, César Awards, Prix Henri Langlois, and Venice Film Festival.

Throughout his career, Omar Sharif starred in many notable films including "1001 Inventions and the World of Ibn Al-Haytham," "Shaytan al-Sahra," "Sira Fi al-Mina," "La Anam," "Ard al-Salam," "Lawrence of Arabia," and "Doctor Zhivago". He passed away on July 10, 2015, in Cairo.
