Neil Gershenfeld

Neil Gershenfeld is a physicist and computer scientist born on December 1, 1959, in Ardmore, Pennsylvania . He holds citizenship in the United States .

Gershenfeld completed his education at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School , Swarthmore College , and Cornell University . His doctoral advisor at Cornell was Watt W. Webb .

He has guided doctoral students such as Matthew A. Reynolds and Manu Prakash . Currently, Gershenfeld is employed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) .
