Muriel Spark

Muriel Spark (1 February 1918 – 13 April 2006) was a British writer born in Edinburgh and held citizenship in the United Kingdom. Spark was educated at Heriot-Watt University and James Gillespie's High School. Throughout her career, she worked as a writer, poet, novelist, playwright, and screenwriter.

Among Muriel Spark's notable works are "The Finishing School (Spark novel)", "The Public Image", "The Mandelbaum Gate", "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie", "A Far Cry from Kensington", "The Comforters", "Territorial Rights", "The Bachelors", "The Driver's Seat", "The Ballad of Peckham Rye", "Loitering with Intent", and "The Girls of Slender Means".

Muriel Spark passed away in Florence on April 13, 2006.
