Maurice White

Maurice White (December 19, 1941 – February 3, 2016) was an American singer-songwriter, bandleader, record producer, film producer, and music executive. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and later moved to Los Angeles. He was a citizen of the United States.

White was educated at Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, Tennessee, and Tennessee State University. He was involved in the music industry, with a focus on genres such as soul music and funk. Over his career, he held various occupations including singer, musician, and film score composer.

Maurice White received the Grammy Award for Best Arrangement, Instrumental and Vocals. He passed away on February 3, 2016, in Los Angeles.
