Mark Oliphant

Mark Oliphant (1901-2000) was an Australian-born physicist, who held citizenship in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. He was born in Kent Town, South Australia and died in Canberra, Australia. Oliphant studied at the University of Adelaide and the University of Cambridge. He was a student of notable physicist Ernest Rutherford.

During his career, Oliphant focused on a variety of roles, including working as a physicist and serving as a governor. Among his prominent doctoral students were Ernest Titterton and Tahir Hussain (physicist).
