Mario Capecchi

Mario Capecchi is a biologist and geneticist born on October 6, 1937 in Verona, Italy. He holds United States citizenship. Capecchi was educated at several institutions, including Harvard University, Antioch University, Antioch College, and George School. His doctoral advisor at Harvard was James Watson, one of the discoverers of the structure of DNA. In 2007, Mario Capecchi was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
