MakerSuite is a set of tools for prototyping with large language models (LLMs) without machine learning expertise. MakerSuite enables users to develop generative AI ideas for text, data, and chat use cases. With MakerSuite, users can translate prompts into code for developments in environments like Colab and access the PaLM API using an easy interface.
MakerSuite was announced by Google on March 14, 2023, alongside the PaLM API. Both these tools were made available to select developers through a private preview, followed by a waiting list that lets small groups of people gain access.
Rather than developers using multiple tools for their generative AI development workflows, MakerSuite aims to simplify the process, offering a single platform for users to iterate on prompts, augment datasets with synthetic data, and tune custom models. MakerSuite exports prompts as code in popular languages and frameworks, such as Python and Node.js. MakerSuite runs from a web browser and requires no setting up.
