Luke Howard (28 November 1772 - 21 March 1864) was a British chemist, pharmacist, and founding member of the Royal Meteorological Society. Born in London, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Howard made significant contributions to the field of meteorology.

In his personal life, Howard was the son of Robert Howard and Elizabeth née Leatham. He had three children: Elizabeth Jane Howard, Rachel Howard, and John Eliot Howard. Luke Howard passed away in Tottenham on 21 March 1864.
