Lou Reed

Lou Reed (birth name: Lewis Allan Reed) was born on March 2, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York. He had multiple occupations throughout his career, including singer-songwriter, guitarist, composer, musician, and actor. Lou Reed was educated at Syracuse University and held U.S. citizenship.

Reed's music was known for its wide array of genres, such as psychedelic rock, rock music, glam rock, art rock, alternative rock, and folk rock among others. He also worked in the music industry as a record producer and film director.

Lou Reed authored songs including "Dirty Blvd.", "No Money Down", and "The Original Wrapper". He was a recipient of the Grammy Award for Best Music Film.

Reed passed away on October 27, 2013, in Southampton, New York.
