Lodovico Ferrari (2 February 1522 – 5 October 1565) was an Italian mathematician born in Bologna. He was a student of Gerolamo Cardano, who later became Ferrari's doctoral advisor. Throughout his career, Ferrari made significant contributions to the field of mathematics. He eventually passed away in his hometown of Bologna on 5 October 1565.
