Beazley was educated at Derby School, then at Gonville and Keys College. In 1903, he received a diploma in natural sciences.

Having started his career as a schoolteacher at Wirksworth High School, Beazley moved to Dalich College, where he became a Master of Science. In 1957, he was still working as the director of the Northwood Coaching School in Middlesex County. Beazley's grandson is The New York Times science editor Nicholas Wade.
