Kurupt, born Ricardo Emmanuel Brown on November 23, 1972, is an American musician, actor, rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He was born in Philadelphia and holds United States citizenship. Kurupt's work is mainly in the genres of hip-hop music and gangsta rap.

He was educated at Leuzinger High School and has had two known partners in his life; Foxy Brown, a fellow rapper, and Natina Reed. Kurupt's career spans across various industries including music, working as a musician, and within the music industry. In addition to his talents as a rapper, he is also known as a singer.
